Cult of the Ugly Shirts

Last night was a great night. Work went pretty well. I once again used my teenage charm on a group of middle-age ladies. They asked me what I was studying and gave me impressed looks when I told them. So far, EVERY SINGLE PERSON I tell that I'm studying aerospace engineering looks at me like I'm some sort of insane genius. Like only crazy people study that. They also asked me when I was going back to school and then they said they'd come in once more before I left. But, alas, my last day is tomorrow, and I will not have the pleasure of wooing these moms once more. I don't understand this: I apparently have great skill chatting up middle-age women (they all think I'm cute), but with a group of girls my own age (they all think I'm werid), it's like, "Ummmmm . . . welcome to . er . . . um . welcome to Aaron, my name is Fresco's and you're hot. Um . . . I mean our food is hot. I'm your server." Why do all my successful conversations with women ALSO include like a 25-year age gap?

Anyways, after work we had a nice little server party at Friday's. We slowly trickled in, so every time our waiter turned around, there were more of us. We had become that annoying table that comes in right before close, always needs something when you pass them, and talks really loudly. Oops. Anyways, there were 7 of us servers and 1 busser, and we spent the time talking about work and such. Really good company; a great time. The Relevation of the Evening: Everyone at Fresco's is in some way sexually frustrated. I think it's a question on our application. And there's multiple love triangles, squares, and pentagons going on back in the server station; convulted webs of both sexes. What a great job. Anyways, Friday's was really sweet, and I enjoyed it. Kind of a bitter-sweet moment, because it was the last night I'd see two of the people I just got to know this summer (and realized how cool they were), Kaitlyn and Judy. Well, I'll probably see them again before the summer, but not officially. As if you could see someone unofficially. I'll miss them. And everyone at Fresco's. I won't miss Fresco's, but I'll miss the people. Enough to make me drop out of college and continue smoozing old ladies for small change for the rest of my life. . . . or maybe not.

If I didn't have to work at work, it would be so much better.

I think it can be summed up with one word: non-threatening.
